Beth Wuest, Ph.D. - Associate Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness

Dana Chapman, Senior Administrative Assistant

Dana joined Institutional Effectiveness in 2012. She coordinates the calendar, travel, and correspondence for the associate vice president, maintains accreditation and academic program review (APR) calendars and assists departments with the scheduling and communication involved in all accreditation and APR site visits. Joe Meyer, M.S. - Assistant Vice President for Institutional Research

Joe joined the office for Institutional Research in 1989 as a planning analyst, then became director from 1996 to 2016, and now the assistant vice president. He and his staff provide data, information, and analysis to support administrative decision making by the university as well as the Texas State University System office in Austin. They also submit state and federal reports, develop and publish administrative reports, ensure the accuracy and integrity of university data, and provide assessment and planning assistance to administrative offices. Tami Rice, M.S.H.P. - Director

Tami joined Institutional Research as a planning analyst in 1997 and is serving as the director of the office and as the chief governance officer for the university since 2012. She is responsible for providing data and analytical support to the Texas State University System (TSUS) Office and chairing the TSUS Institutional Research Council as well as the university's Data Governance Council. Tami is also the State Reporting Official, coordinates the Legislative Budget Board performance measures reporting process, and manages the Data Governance Program at Texas State. [more]

Ana came to Institutional Research in 2013.  Her duties include purchasing, budget management, travel, and maintaining the Institutional Research office calendar. She also provides administrative support for the office, as well as tracking projects and surveys.  [more


Susan Thompson, M.A.I.S. - Senior Research Analyst

Susan, who came to Institutional Research in 1993, is responsible for coordinating administrative surveys and assisting departments with the development and implementation of administrative assessment projects. She also chairs the University Survey committee, is a member of the Institutional Review Board, and has chaired the Texas State Staff Council. [more]

Kate Amorella Proff, B.S. - Database Administrator

Kate, who came to Institutional Research in 2010, serves as the liaison between Institutional Research and the Information Technology division. Her primary responsibilities include data architecture, dashboarding, and server administration. She is a member of the Data Governance Council, the Student Information System Coordinating Council, the Enterprise Systems Coordinating Council, and the Texas State University System (TSUS) Institutional Research Council. G. Marc Turner, Ph.D. - Senior Research Analyst

Marc joined Institutional Research in 2013. His primary responsibilities include predictive modeling, compiling faculty and staff demographics, supporting assessment activities, completing standard reports, providing training on data visualization, and maintaining IR Self-Service Tools. He serves on the Institutional Review Board, the Retention Council, and the Admissions Standards committee. [more]

Lisa Garza, Ph.D. - Director of University Planning and Assessment

This is a picture of Lisa Garza
Lisa came to Texas State in 1983. She is primarily responsible for guiding the development and assessment of all department, college, division, and university strategic plans at Texas State University. This continuous process repeats every six years and begins with campus-wide input into a University Mission Statement. Lisa facilitates the annual outcomes assessment process for all administrative, educational, and student support departments at Texas State and also maintains and oversees the system of University Policy and Procedure Statements for the University. Iza Martinez, M.A., Administrative Assistant III (University Planning & Assessment)

Iza provides direct administrative support to the director of University Planning and Assessment. The primary responsibilities include the tracking, updating, and finalization of University Policy and Procedure Statements (UPPS) and Academic Affairs Policy and Procedures (AAPPS), as well as managing UPPS and AAPPS archives and maintaining disposition records. UPA also collects and compiles inputs to University Plan progress reports and assists with university strategic plans as well as the outcomes assessment process. [more]
